First steps around your group's Home Page

When you log-in to the Wiki you will see your group's individual home page. The menu on the right hand side will reflect your access rights, i.e. the number of items available depend on the user group you are assigned to.

The figure below shows what a sample home page might look like and highlights the various menu items optionally available.

Sample Home Page

The page can be roughly divided into three parts

  1. Content (framed blue)

Normally, the home page will give an overview of topics relevant to the group. You will find current issues and/or links to further pages here.

This page is available to members of your group only!

  2. The Tools Menu (framed yellow)

The Tools menu is available to all groups. You can

    • search the whole site by filling in the Search Edit-Box and selecting Go ,
    • browse the most recent changes and additions in the "Since your last visit" box,
    • see who else is currently online in the "Online users" section.
  3. The Main Menu (framed green)

The number of items in the main menu depends on your access rights. One or more of the following menu folders may be available to you:

    • Wiki pages
    • file archives
may e.g. contain technical documents, user manuals, software updates and the like. Various archives are provided, each with its own topic.
    • image galleries
may e.g. contain pictures from recent events, screen-shots and the like. Various galleries are available.
    • articles
are just what the name implies. News articles and other read-only information of interest is made available here.
    • FAQ
A range of FAQ lists is provided and continually added to.
    • forum
Users of our service may use the forums as a starting point when running into problems they cannot solve on their own.
By clicking onto the folder icon next to the respective item header you can open/close a sub-menu.

If the menu is not required, it can be hidden:

  4. Language (framed red)

At least for some of the Wiki Pages you can select your preferred language; currently the CCI Wiki supports German and English.
